Stage 1: After 23 weeks of runtime or 665 gallons (2520 liters) of water the filter icon in the display will turn red.

Stage 2: If the filter is not replaced, the filter icon will blink after 26 weeks or 739 gallons (2800 liters) of water.

Easy Way: Press and hold the Thermometer and the Filter touchpad or the freezer's Up and On/Off touchpad for approximately five seconds (mostly on new models).

Using Customer Service Mode:

Switch the freezer ON.

Locate and hold the Down arrow.

Turn off the display by pressing the Thermometer touchpad

While holding the Down arrow, press the Thermometer touchpad. When it becomes yellow, release it.

Keep holding the Down arrow until the letter C shows up on the display. Scroll down to h and press the Thermometer icon. Scroll down to h2 and hold it until h- shows up.

Press Thermometer. When the letter h appears, scroll back to C and press Thermometer again.
